Good morning. Seeing as how most of my readers are American, I had better explain this one: Mr. Dressup (Ernie Coombs) was a Canadian children's entertainer who had his own TV show on CBC that ran from 1967 to 1996, and then until 2006 in reruns. (Since LSA is meant to take place in the year 2002, it would still be plausible for Jeremy and Ian to be watching an old rerun)

Mr. Dressup was often accompanied by two puppets, Casey and Finnegan. He would dress up in costumes acquired from his "Tickle Trunk" and act out stories with them. In other segments he would sing songs, make crafts, or draw pictures on a pad of bond paper draped over an easel.

It was very low budget, and still infinitely more fascinating to me as a child than Sesame Street or any other children's show. I WEPT when Mr. Dressup died.

It was also brought to my attention that the pictures on this blog are too small to read. This is, unfortunately, not my doing: Blogger used to link directly to an image, but now each image is displayed in a horrible Flash presentation, with no way of resizing it. I suggest you click on my "Good morning" link in each post, which will take you to my own website where you can read the comic at the proper size! Hope that helps. :) I'll see you all on Thursday!

  1. Elaine, you can change that annoying flash lightbox presentation by going into your Blogger Settings - look under "Formatting" and change "Showcase images with Lightbox" to "NO"!
